Quotes
“I used to dance professionally in New York City with the School of American Ballet when I was younger, and I’m still a ballerina at heart. So, I was always an artist from a very young age.”
“While I was in New York City, I actually injured myself. I had to take another class during the day while I was healing, so I started taking acting classes and I fell in love with acting. I moved home from New York City and completely switched gears. I’ve been acting ever since.”
“As a producer and someone who’s casting a character, my favorite perspective is that we’re all human. When a person comes into the casting session, I can tell that they’re nervous and they’re shaky. We’re all on the other side rooting for you and wanting you to do well. We’re not these big, bad producers that I had the image of in my own head anytime I went into an audition.”
“When I was filming A California Christmas, we were filming on a very, very large dairy farm where there were a lot of Hispanic workers. They had such joy when they were working, and they were working long hours. They were doing such hard, hard labor with such joy. It’s something that I have never been exposed to and never seen.”
“My two favorite things are Christmas and wine.”
“I love to make mulled wine. It just makes the whole house smell good.”
“So being pregnant in the middle of COVID, it was actually a blessing to me, because I was really able to curate the show visually in a way that I wouldn’t have been able to if I was actually on set.”
“Being on set is one of my favorite things in the world.”
“I feel being a mom gives me a very special depth to my creativity that I didn’t have before. Perspectives really change when you’re a mom, and it gives you a better relationship to other moms. Then I’m really able to go into their psyche, and it just makes for better writing and creating.”
“I think my favorite thing about the show is that all human beings have this innate desire to be loved, to love, to be accepted, and to be respected. It doesn’t matter where you come from, how much money you have, how much money you don’t have, that is a completely animalistic necessity that we all strive for. For people to experience the migrant workers in a way, we don’t necessarily show anything aside from their love for their family, and their love for their work.”
“My favorite part about the world of film and TV is that you can experience different cultures and different people that you’ve never met, you’ve never been a part of.”
Lauren Swickard has an inspiring journey throughout her career as an actress. No wonder, many fans adore her so much!
