Career

Hwang So Hee started her career as a Disk Jockey (DJ) in 2013. She picked DJ Soda as her stage name.

This South Korean likes the name because it’s quite unique and easy to remember. The word So in Korean means bull, and Soda is sort of a slang word for You Bull.

Becoming a DJ has always been part of her dream since her teenage years. She had a pretty rough childhood. She turned into Electronic Dance Music to escape from her hard reality.

Claimed to be forced to stand “half-naked” for wearing offensive sweatpants during US flight

In April 2022, she took to Instagram to write that she “was forced out of the plane and was harassed to take off my pants in front of the flight crews at the gate” after boarding the plane.

At that moment, she had been wearing dark-colored sweatpants with printed words such as “F**k”, “F**k You” and “F**kin'” all over. According to her claim, it was sponsored by Ripndip clothing brand.

She also stated how she “never had issue” before while wearing it during her NA music tour.

DJ Soda pleaded to not be taken off of the flight as she had to arrived in LA in time for a meeting.

She had proceed by offering to get changed, but it was denied. The situation was heightened when she “ended up taking off my pants in front of the whole crew and standing half-naked while they still refused to board me on the flight.”

In the end, she had to wore her pants inside out. She concluded the post by wishing the incident to never happens to anyone and that she’d boycott the airline.
