Eugene

Kim Yoo Jin, who’s more known by her stage name Eugene, is a South Korean actress and singer.

She initially gained fame as a former member of S.E.S, before shifting her career’s focus to acting and appearing in various drama series such as Loving You (2002), Bread, Love and Dreams (2010), and and The Penthouse: War in Life (2020–2021).

Career

Eugene first started her career in the music industry back in 1997. She became a member of the group S.E.S. They made their debut in of that year with the album I’m Your Girl.

Their debut album turned out to be a massive success, becoming one of the bestselling albums in South Korea.

The next albums Sea & Eugene & Shoo (1998), Love (1999), and A Letter from Greenland (2000) are also quite successful.

After experiencing massive success, this singer decided to part ways with the agency SM Entertainment. This resulted in the group disbandment in 2002.

Afterwards, Eugene began to turn into acting. She had her debut in 2002 with the TV series Loving You.

She then took several more roles in Save The Last Dance for Me (2004), Wonderful Life (2005), and I Really Really Like You (2006).

This woman from Seoul began to gain recognition for her acting around 2010.

At the time, she got a role in King of Baking, Kim Takgu. The series was a huge success, even getting the status of National Drama.

Eugene has also worked as a host in several shows. Some of them are Happy Together Friends (2007), Get It Beauty (2010), and The Great Birth (2012).
