Laura Surrich started her career as an actress by taking an uncredited role in King Kong (2005).

She seemingly took a break from acting for a while after her appearance in King Kong, as she enrolled in the New Zealand College of Performing Arts in 2007.

At the same time, she also appeared to shift her focus to modeling. She competed in various beauty pageant competitions.
